StartmeupHK Festival 2020 postponed
In light of the current situation relating to the coronavirus, Invest Hong Kong and the key partners of the StartmeupHK Festival 2020 announced to postpone the festival, scheduled for 10-15 February. The festival will be rescheduled later this year.
What is StartmeupHK Festival?
StartmeupHK Festival is a startup conference celebrating the best of tech innovation. It was launched in Hong Kong in 2013 as an initiative by InvestHK. The festival aims to promote Hong Kong as a startup destination, connect entrepreneurs, and create a vibrant ecosystem that draws innovative, high impact ventures from around the world.
This week long festival is a unique platform for startups, entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, students and academics to exchange ideas, make connections and chart a course for the future. It features keynotes from world-renowned speakers, interactive how-to sessions, hackathons, and valuable lessons from celebrated founders and investors in fintech, healthtech, smart city technologies, IOT, retail and logistics innovation, edtech and much more.
JUMPSTARTER Global Pitch Competition
One of the highlights of the festival is the JUMPSTARTER Global Pitch Competition, hosted by Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund/HSBC, where the top 5 JUMPSTARTER startups will win investment commitment of up to US$5Million and cash prize of US$100,000 in total.
Though JUMPSTARTER’s offline startup event has been rescheduled, the JUMPSTARTER Global Pitch Competition Grand Finale is going online, via live streaming, on Feb 11 and 12.
The five winning teams will be announced on Feb 12. Forty finalists will participate online, from their respective locations and compete for up to a total of US$5 million in investment and a total of US$100,000 in cash prizes. Apart from the real-time live competition, there will also be real-time online interactions between finalists and the judging panel, as well as video messages from supporting organizations and guests and online voting. The winners will be announced in real-time by a distinguished guest.
